About Me
My name is Carla Moore and I am honored to serve as Hickman County Commissioner for District 6. By bringing diversity into the room, I take my role seriously and I am committed to representing my community with integrity, passion and dedication.
Hickman County Roots
I was born and raised in Hickman County and I am proud to be a product of this community. From my childhood days of being fed pinto beans and cornbread to my high school graduation from Hickman County High School in 1986, this place has always been home and a major part of my life and has also shaped me. My parents, Coach McKinley Moore and Clara Scates Moore, instilled in me the values of hard work, education and service. Each of my siblings made me who I am as well. And now, as a commissioner, I am able to give back to the community that gave me so much.
Professional Background
After leaving Hickman County, I embarked on a 30-year executive career in media and entertainment. I spent twenty of those years with HBO working in Atlanta, Chicago, LA and New York. While at HBO, I earned an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago and became an Amazon best-selling author through Forbes Books. Today, I am a business owner, leadership speaker and certified transformation coach, helping others reach their full potential.
Community Service
Throughout my life, I have always been committed to giving back to society. I am a 30+ year member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a public service organization, and I serve on the board of the Bernard Community Center. I am also a committee member for several community organizations for Hickman County, including speaking at Hickman County Retired Teachers Association events. As a commissioner, I can use my passion, purpose and power to impact my community positively.
Thank you for visiting my page. I am proud to serve as your Hickman County Commissioner and I look forward to working with you to make our county even stronger!
